Welcome to STUDIO EAST Asian Gastropub
The Pratt Brothers
Welcome to our new digs at 2446 Agricola Street in Halifax, only minutes from downtown. With the impending demolition of our old restaurant site to make way for another apartment tower, we made the decision to move early so we could choose the perfect location in the same north end neighbourhood. After months of construction, we are excited to show off our new space with a few modern twists.
We brought the same cheerful staff with the same menu and made a few additions to it, and will launch our new lunch and brunch menus. We have a small patio out front as well as a private patio in the back. We've also added an additional 26 seats inside plus a private underground dining room for up to 20 people to host private dinners, conferences or private social gatherings.
The Pratt Brothers grew up in the restaurant business working in their family restaurants in Halifax and Dartmouth, NS. They spent a summer working with Chef Michael Smith in Fireworks restaurant at the Inn at Bay Fortune in PEI before going onto the Culinary Institute of Canada Holland College in Charlottetown, PEI. They spent a summer doing their internship at The Merchant Tavern in St. John’s NF with Chef Jeremy Charles before graduating from culinary school. After graduation, they joined the Canadian Youth Culinary Olympic Team and competed and won silver medals in Luxembourg. They also spent a season working at the famous Terrafina Restaurant of Hester Creek Winery, Oliver, BC.
We have never wanted a pretentious menu appealing to one crowd. You can still get a burger and fries, ramen or Bao bun with a local craft beer alongside fresh Atlantic Halibut in a Thai Red Curry sauce or Chinese 5 spice Duck Confit. Just keep in mind, all of these dishes are prepared with an Asian twist making this a great Asian Gastropub for all, come see what all the fuss is about.
Nestled only 3 blocks from the Halifax Commons, Studio East offers a unique blend of exquisitely crafted Asian fare, the best of local craft brew, and vibrant, original cocktails, tailored to match the bold flavours of the East. Our menu celebrates an ambitious, yet approachable Asian-Global fusion that strives for the highest standards in sustainability, while providing an unforgettable experience with flavour.
Thank you,
The Pratt Brothers
