I joined the Studio East team in April 2019 after a two-month backpacking adventure through Thailand, Laos, Vietnam and Cambodia. I was excited to work somewhere with ties to the food & culture I had just fallen in love with.
Originally, I’m from Newfoundland. I’ve been hopping around the Atlantic provinces for the past 10 years; studying Journalism & English Lit at St. Thomas University in Fredericton NB, working at a radio station in Miramichi (I was the Morning Show Co-Host & News Reader at 95.9 sun fm), back and forth to Corner Brook, and eventually deciding on Halifax. 🙂
Fun Facts: Playing the ukulele is my new hobby, and the beach is my happy place. Namaste.
My favourite menu item is the Cambodian-Thai Love Curry and you can usually find me pairing it with wine (the Chenin-Blanc or Sangiovese are my favourites).
Senior Team Leader / Server / Fermentation Specialist
I spent over 16 years in BC, doing everything from completing grad school to rock climbing and tree planting, there has always been one constant in my life – food and the restaurants where I served it!
From growing my own, to cooking, canning and fermenting, I’ve always been passionate about food. Beyond the nutritional components, I’m fascinated by the political and socio-economic aspects of food, and the social, communal and environmental systems it supports and maintains.
I recently moved back home to be closer to my family and because Nova Scotia has a unique and vibrant attitude towards food, local production, quality, sustainability and societal health. I was looking for a new East Coast restaurant to be my home away from home, and I knew I have found it with the Studio East team.
It is a joy to work for an establishment that has such integrity and a vision that reflects my values and passion for local sustainable food. I look forward to the opportunity to be part of a collaborative community that pushes the boundaries of creativity… I’m so glad to be home!

I love all things art and am lucky to be able to express myself creatively at work. I take great pride in learning as much as possible about all forms of alcohol, whether it be beer, wine or spirits. Outside of work I enjoy a simple life. I like to eat, sleep, walk around… The usual stuff.
My favourite menu item is the Tofu Rice Bowl!
